Silk has been known as a textile fibre for about 4,000 years. Its qualities are unrivalled by any other fibre - it is light but strong, smooth, soft and versatile. And as a natural fibre that "breathes", silk is comfortable to the skin. Superb fine silk quilts are immune to all attacks of fungi and will not deteriorate with the age. Most importantly, they contain no traces of harmful chemicals and do not require washing after every use. They can regain their original softness and beauty by simply drying in the sunlight.
Silk has the characteristics to adapt to changes in temperature. It can be warmer in the winter or cold season and cooler in the summer or hot season. Silk has strong fibre structure, high elasticity and good tenacity. All pure silk quilts are healthy, light-weight, soft and thermal insulating. Moreover, a pure silk quilt has the characteristics of air-permeability, no static electricity and can be effectively clean the environment in the room.

Why Choose Silk Quilt ?

Comfortable All Year Round
• Silk breathes better than down, wicking moisture away from your body. Its unique thermal properties allow it to adjust to your body temperature, adding a perfect layer of warmth in all seasons.
• Silk comforters drape better than down, contouring to your body, leaving no cold spots. Down runs from you, but silk comes to you.
• Zuhrah silk-filled comforters give you the warmth of down at a fraction of the price and half the weight!

100% Natural, Allergy Free
• Silk is 100% natural and hypoallergenic, making it a perfect alternative to down or wool.
• Silk fibers don¡¯t break down the way feathers do; as down degrades, allergies often become worse.

Trouble Free
• Layered silk fiber is remarkably stable; the delicate, fluffy layers ¡°adhere¡± to one another, never wandering or bunching. This means our comforters require little or no quilt stitching, giving them a billowy softness, a hallmark of every Zuhrah product.

For the Rest of Your Life
• Silk-filled comforters have a longer life expectancy than down comforters.
• With proper care and our exclusive comforter covers, a silk comforter can provide a lifetime of use.

Silk Quilt and Down Comforter Comparison

Qualities  Silk Quilt Regular Down Comforter
Comfort Silk is by far the most comfortable natural material next to the skin. It is smooth, supple, soft to the touch, and is well known for its year-round comfort. Silk Comforters give you substance without bulk. To prevent feather loss, the cover fabric is often dense and rough. Also, down comforters do not conform to your body as does silk.
Breathability Silk's protein fiber is porous and fairly breathable, and has temperature-adjusting quality. Goose down is animal feather with inferior breathability, and may feel stuffy.
Touchability The covering is made of soft and light weight silk, smooth to the touch and have no gap for warmth to escape. Goose down air pockets provide insulation, but provide no sensual comfort.
Health Effect Silk is a natural protein that is suitable for all skin types. It does not stimulate any allergy and Silk has been loved by royalty throughout history. Goose down feathers can sometimes loosen and flutter into the air, causing nasal or skin allergies.
